I received my first few donations today! Thanks to everyone for their support!
I wanted to say a few words about the “Chip-in” button on my page.
1- We couldn’t figure out a way to add the donations we’re getting in person to the graph and the amount donated. To make up for this I will deduct the amount of the donations I receive in person from the total amount. I started out with a total of $5,000. So sharpen your math skills if you would like to keep up with how the fund raising is going.
2- Don’t be afraid to use the ChipIn button! Clicking the ChipIn button will take you to a PayPal page where you can make a donation using your credit card or your PayPal account. If you’re not familiar with PayPal, it’s a way to pay people when you buy things from individuals online, such as on e-bay or half.com. It is secure so that no one has access to your personal and private information except for the banks doing the transaction. The donation on-line goes into our bank account. We receive notice of the name of the donor and the amount, but no personal information (like your credit card number). Hopefully this clears things up for those of you who might have been hesitant to donate online.
October starts soon which means IHOP will start serving their pumpkin pancakes!! yumm….
